Unboxing your 2025 Surron Ultra Bee: first checks

Whether your bike arrives in a crate or from a dealer, run through these checks before the first ride:

  • Check that the charger, keys or key fob, manual and any tools are in the box.
  • Look over the bike for shipping damage to the plastics, levers and wheels.
  • Check tire pressure; bikes often ship with low or uneven pressure.
  • Spin both wheels and check that the brakes do not drag.
  • Check chain tension and make sure the chain is lubricated.
  • Go over the axle nuts, handlebar clamps, brake lever clamps and footpeg bolts.
  • Charge the battery fully before the first ride.

Ultra Bee setup for your weight

Good Ultra Bee setup takes about half an hour and makes a bigger difference than any upgrade. Start here:

1. Tire pressure

Around 14 to 18 psi suits most trail riding on the 19 and 18 inch wheels. Drop a little for rocks, roots and sand, and add a little for hardpack and gravel roads. Check pressure before every ride, because a few psi changes grip noticeably.

2. Rear sag

With you sitting on the bike in full riding gear, the rear should settle about a third of the way into its travel. Measure from the rear axle to a fixed point on the frame with the bike on a stand, then again with you on board. Adjust spring preload until the drop is right.

3. Fork and shock damping

Once sag is set, adjust rebound so the rear settles after a bump without bouncing, and compression so the bike does not bottom out on your biggest hits. Make one change at a time, a couple of clicks at a time, and test it on the same section of trail.

4. Controls

Set the bars so they sit at about waist to lower-chest height when you stand. Angle the brake levers slightly down and position them so you can pull them with one or two fingers while standing. The 2025 Surron Ultra Bee has a tall 35.8 inch seat, so shorter riders may want to talk to us about lowering options.

2025 Surron Ultra Bee ride modes and how to use them

The Ultra Bee offers several power maps, from a soft Eco setting up to full-power Turbo. Here is how we suggest new owners use them:

  • Eco: for your first rides, wet roots, tight woods and long range days.
  • Sport: 18 kW of peak power, ideal for everyday trail riding once you are comfortable.
  • Turbo: the full 21 kW for experienced riders on open terrain and tracks.

Leave traction control on while you learn, and experiment with regen levels. Stronger regen saves brake pads on long descents, while lighter regen lets the bike roll more freely on fast, flowing trails.

2025 Surron Ultra Bee battery, charging and range

The 74V 60Ah battery is swappable, so you can charge it on or off the bike. Surron rates range at up to about 70 miles at a steady 31 mph, but hard trail riding in Turbo uses energy much faster. Plan on roughly 25 to 40 miles of real trail riding, depending on terrain, rider weight and mode.

If you ride often or want quicker turnarounds, our 85V 12A Ultra Bee fast charger is a popular second charger to keep in the truck or garage.

Battery care rules

  • Charge in a dry, ventilated place, away from flammable materials.
  • Let the battery cool after hard riding before you plug it in.
  • For daily use, keeping the charge between about 20% and 80% is gentle on the cells.
  • For storage longer than a few weeks, leave it at around 50% and top it up every month or two.
  • Keep it out of freezing garages and hot car interiors.
  • Only use the supplied charger or an approved replacement.

Ultra Bee maintenance schedule

Ultra Bee maintenance is far simpler than caring for a gas bike, but it still matters. This simple schedule covers the basics. Your owner’s manual has the official intervals and torque values.

WhenWhat to check
Before every rideTire pressure, brakes, chain tension and lube, battery charge, loose bolts
After the first few ridesSpoke tension, axle nuts, brake rotor bolts, bar clamps, chain adjustment
Every few ridesClean and lube the chain, check brake pad wear, clean off mud
MonthlySpokes, all accessible bolts, sprocket wear, wheel bearings, cable and wire routing
Every seasonBrake fluid, suspension service, chain and sprockets as needed, swingarm and linkage bearings

Chain care

In Ultra Bee maintenance, the chain is the part that wears fastest, because instant torque loads it hard. Keep it clean, lubed and at the right tension. A chain that is too tight wears bearings; too loose and it can jump the sprocket. Replace the chain and sprockets together when they wear.

Brakes

Check pad thickness every few rides, more often in mud and sand. Bleed the hydraulic brakes about once a season or whenever the lever feels soft. New pads need bedding in with a series of firm stops before they reach full power.

Washing

Rinse the bike gently with low-pressure water and a soft brush. Never aim a pressure washer at the motor, controller, display, battery connectors or bearings. Dry the bike, lube the chain and check the brakes afterward.

Common Ultra Bee maintenance issues and quick fixes

  • Squealing brakes: usually glazed pads or contamination. Clean the rotors with brake cleaner and re-bed the pads; replace contaminated pads.
  • Clunking from the rear: check chain tension and the sprocket bolts first, then the linkage bearings.
  • Loose spokes: common on new bikes. Check them after the first rides and tighten evenly.
  • Shorter range than expected: check tire pressure, mode, temperature and how hard you ride. Cold weather can cut range noticeably.
  • Battery will not charge: check the outlet, the charger light and the connector for dirt or moisture. If it still will not charge, contact your dealer rather than opening the pack.
  • Error message on the display: note the code and contact your dealer. Do not keep riding with a fault warning.

2025 Surron Ultra Bee upgrades worth buying

The 2025 Surron Ultra Bee is well equipped from the factory, so start with upgrades that protect the bike and suit your riding:

  1. Hand guards: protect your hands, levers and controls in tight woods.
  2. A skid plate: shields the underside from rocks and logs.
  3. A spare battery: the swappable pack makes long days easy.
  4. Terrain-specific tires: the 19/18 inch sizes give you a wide choice of motocross and trail tires.
  5. Springs for your weight: if you are much lighter or heavier than average, the right springs transform handling.
  6. A second charger: keep one at home and one in the truck or at a cabin.

You will find chargers and spares in our parts and accessories range.

Breaking in a new 2025 Surron Ultra Bee

Electric motors do not need a break-in like gas engines, but the rest of the bike does. New brake pads need bedding in, spokes and bolts settle, the chain stretches slightly and the suspension loosens up over the first few hours. Treat the first two or three rides as a shakedown.

  • Ride in Eco and Sport while you get to know the bike.
  • Bed in the brakes with ten or so firm stops from moderate speed.
  • After each of the first rides, check spokes, chain tension and the main bolts.
  • Note how the suspension feels; most bikes need a small preload or damping change once everything settles.

Tools for Ultra Bee maintenance at home

You do not need a full workshop. A small kit covers almost all routine Ultra Bee maintenance:

  • A rear stand or lift so the wheels can spin freely.
  • Metric hex keys, sockets and a torque wrench.
  • A spoke wrench in the right size for your wheels.
  • A tire pressure gauge and a pump.
  • Chain cleaner, a chain brush and quality chain lube.
  • Brake cleaner and clean rags.
  • A sag measuring tape and a notebook for your settings.

Keep an Ultra Bee setup log

Write down your tire pressures, sag measurements, clicker settings, ride mode and regen level for each kind of terrain you ride. When a setting feels great, you can return to it in seconds. When something feels wrong, you can see what changed. A simple Ultra Bee setup log also helps us diagnose problems quickly if you ever bring the bike in.

Pre-ride checklist

  1. Battery charged and seated securely.
  2. Tire pressures set for today’s terrain.
  3. Brakes firm, with enough pad left.
  4. Chain clean, lubed and correctly tensioned.
  5. Axle nuts, bar clamps and levers tight.
  6. Lights, display and kill switch working.
  7. Your riding gear on, and someone knows where you are riding.

Getting more range from every charge

Range on the 2025 Surron Ultra Bee depends mostly on how you ride. Riding in Sport rather than Turbo, keeping tire pressure correct, using moderate regen on descents and avoiding long stretches at full speed all stretch a charge further. Starting a ride with a warm battery in cold weather helps too. For the longest days, a spare battery is the simplest answer, because you can swap packs in minutes.

Riding tips for the first month

  • Spend the first few rides in Eco and Sport while you learn how the bike pulls.
  • Keep your weight forward on climbs; 511 N·m lifts the front wheel easily.
  • Roll on the throttle smoothly out of corners on loose ground.
  • Stand on the pegs over rough terrain and let your legs absorb the hits.
  • Practice braking hard in a safe, open area so you know how the bike stops.

Transporting and storing your 2025 Surron Ultra Bee

At around 195 lb, the bike needs a solid ramp and a pickup bed, a small trailer or a hitch carrier rated well above its weight. Strap it down by the frame and bars, not the plastics. For winter storage, clean the bike, lube the chain, store the battery indoors at about 50% charge and check it every month or two. Cover the bike to keep dust off.

Riding through the seasons

Expect softer power and less range below about 40°F. Keep the battery warm indoors and fit it just before you ride. In summer, avoid leaving the bike in direct sun for hours, and let the battery cool before charging after a hot ride. Light rain is fine; deep water crossings are not.

Who the 2025 Surron Ultra Bee suits

The 2025 model is a great fit for adult riders moving up from a Light Bee class bike, gas riders switching from a 125cc to 250cc trail bike, and anyone who wants mid-size performance with a big, swappable battery. Its 21 kW of peak power and 511 N·m of torque are plenty for almost any trail, and the proven chassis has a huge aftermarket behind it. To see where it sits in the range, read our Surron bikes lineup.

It is less suited to very short riders, because of the 35.8 inch seat, and to riders who only ride tight, slow singletrack, where a lighter bike can feel easier. Our adult size chart can help you check the fit.

Selling or trading in later

Well-kept electric dirt bikes hold their value better than many people expect, and the Ultra Bee is a popular model on the used market. A few habits protect resale value: keep your receipt and maintenance log, store the battery properly, fit hand guards and a skid plate, keep the original parts if you upgrade, and keep the bike clean. A documented, well-maintained bike sells faster and for more.

When to call your dealer

Most Ultra Bee maintenance is simple enough to do at home, but some jobs are best left to a dealer. Contact us if you see a fault code on the display, if the battery will not charge or loses range suddenly, if you notice a burning smell or unusual heat from the motor or controller, or after a big crash that may have bent the frame, wheels or fork. Never open the battery pack yourself.

Is it street legal?

We sell the 2025 Surron Ultra Bee for off-road use. Ride it on private land, tracks and legal off-road areas, and check your state’s rules before riding anywhere else. Some states allow registration with extra equipment, but rules vary widely.

Warranty and dealer support

Keep your receipt, register your bike if the brand offers registration, and keep a simple log of maintenance and any issues. If something goes wrong, a clear record makes warranty help faster. For official information, see Surron USA, and contact us with any questions about bikes bought from our store.

2025 Surron Ultra Bee FAQ

How often should I service my 2025 Surron Ultra Bee?

Check the basics before every ride, give the chain and brakes attention every few rides, and service brakes and suspension each season. Follow your owner’s manual for official intervals.

What tire pressure should I run?

Around 14 to 18 psi for most trail riding, lower for rocks and sand, higher for hardpack.

How long does the battery last?

With good care, many seasons. On a single ride, expect roughly 25 to 40 miles of real trail riding, or up to about 70 miles at a steady 31 mph.

Can I make my Ultra Bee faster?

Gearing changes can trade top speed for acceleration or the reverse. Bigger power gains need controller or software changes, which can affect warranty and reliability. For more factory power, the 2026 Ultra Bee HP adds 3.5 kW.

Is Ultra Bee maintenance expensive?

No. Most costs are tires, brake pads, chains and sprockets, plus occasional suspension servicing. There is no oil, fuel or engine rebuild.
