A Surron Light Bee X charger built for the 60V battery

Every Light Bee variant uses a 60V battery, and a 60V lithium pack reaches 67.2V when fully charged. That is exactly what this Surron Light Bee X charger delivers, so it fills the battery completely without overcharging the cells.

It works with the Light Bee X, LB1 and LBX across model years, and with the Segway X260, which uses the same battery and charge port.

Surron Light Bee X charger 12A fast charging

With a 12A output, the Surron Light Bee X charger refills a stock 60V 40Ah battery from 20% to 100% in about 2.5 hours, and from empty in about 3 hours. Older 10A chargers that shipped with earlier Light Bee model years take around 3.5 to 4 hours for the same charge.

Faster charging means more riding. A long lunch break can put a big chunk of range back into the battery.

How to use your Surron Light Bee X charger

  1. Park the bike on level ground and switch it off.
  2. Open the charge port cover on the left side of the battery pack.
  3. Plug the charger output into the charge port. It fits only one way.
  4. Plug the AC cable into a standard 110V wall outlet.
  5. The indicator turns red while charging and green when the battery is full.
  6. Unplug from the wall first, then from the bike, and close the port cover.

If the charger gets hot, its thermal cutoff can pause charging. This is normal in summer, and charging resumes once the unit cools.

Who should buy a Surron Light Bee X charger?

  • Owners whose charger has failed or gone missing.
  • Riders upgrading from an older 10A charger who want faster charging.
  • Families with more than one Light Bee who want to charge two bikes at once.
  • Riders with a spare battery who want to charge it while riding on the other.
  • Shops that need a dedicated bench charger.

Not compatible with 72V upgrades

This Surron Light Bee X charger is made for the stock 60V battery. If you have upgraded to a 72V battery from another supplier, you will need a charger designed for that higher-voltage pack. It is also not compatible with the Ultra Bee or Storm Bee, which use different batteries and charge ports.

Surron Light Bee X charger safety

  • Charge in a dry, well-ventilated space at room temperature.
  • Place the charger on a hard, non-flammable surface.
  • Let the battery cool after a hard ride before plugging in.
  • Keep the fan vents clear and never cover the charger.
  • Install a smoke detector where you charge.
  • Never use a charger with a damaged cable or plug.

Charging habits for a longer battery life

For daily riding, charge to around 80 to 90% and save a full 100% charge for long rides or back-to-back trail days. Avoid leaving the battery empty for long periods and charge only above freezing. Over winter, store the bike with the battery partly charged and top it up every month or so.

How the Surron Light Bee X charger works with the BMS

The charger supplies voltage and current, and the battery management system controls how the cells take it in. As the battery nears full, charging slows while the system balances the cells. That final stage can take a little longer than you expect, but it keeps the pack healthy.

Signs you need a new Surron Light Bee X charger

  • The charger will not power on or the indicator stays dark
  • Charging takes much longer than it used to
  • Charging stops repeatedly before the battery is full
  • The cable or plug is cracked, frayed or scorched
  • The fan is noisy or the unit gets unusually hot

If any of these apply, stop using the old charger and replace it.

Troubleshooting your Surron Light Bee X charger

Charger does not start: test the outlet with another device, check the plug is fully seated and make sure the bike is switched off.

Charging stops early: the battery or charger may be too hot or cold. Move them to a room-temperature space and try again.

Indicator stays red much longer than usual: the battery may be balancing or aging. If it happens repeatedly, contact us.

Caring for your Surron Light Bee X charger

Coil the cables loosely after use instead of wrapping them tightly around the charger. Keep it dry, store it indoors and clean dust from the fan vents. Check the plugs before every use and keep the bike’s charge port cover closed when you are not charging.

Using the Surron Light Bee X charger in hot and cold weather

In summer, park in the shade and let the battery cool before charging. If the charger pauses because it is hot, give it time to cool. In winter, bring the bike indoors and let the battery warm up before you plug in.

A second Surron Light Bee X charger for the trailer or cabin

Keeping a second charger where you ride most means you never forget it and the one at home stays put. A Surron Light Bee X charger in the trailer, at the cabin or at the track lets you top up between sessions and stay out longer.

Charging two bikes at once

If your family rides more than one Light Bee, a second charger lets you charge both bikes after a ride rather than one after the other. Label each Surron Light Bee X charger so it stays with the right bike, and give each one its own safe, ventilated spot.

Charging a spare battery

Own a spare 60V pack? Charge it at home while you ride on the other. Place the spare on a hard, non-flammable surface, connect the charger and keep an eye on it until it is full. Store it at a sensible charge level until you need it.

Check your outlet

A 12A charger draws a steady load for a few hours. Plug it directly into a sound wall outlet rather than a long chain of extension cords. If you must use an extension lead, choose a heavy-duty cord rated for the load and keep it fully uncoiled.

Keeping the charge port clean

Keep the port cover closed when you are not charging. Before plugging in, check the pins are clean and dry. If the port is dusty, blow it out with dry air instead of wiping it with a wet cloth. Pull the plug by its body, not the cable.

Taking the charger on the road

Pack the Surron Light Bee X charger in a padded bag so it is not crushed, and keep it away from fuel cans and chemicals. At a venue, ask before plugging in and keep the charger dry and shaded.

Understanding volts and amps

Battery voltage is a nominal figure. A 60V lithium pack sits at 67.2V when full, which is why chargers are labeled with the full-charge value. The amp rating is the charging current: more amps means faster charging, with the battery’s management system controlling the final stage. Always match the charger to your battery’s voltage and connector.

Safe charging spots at home

Choose one place to charge and set it up properly. A garage or shed with a concrete floor, good airflow and a smoke detector is ideal. Keep the area clear of fuel, paint and cardboard, make sure the outlet is easy to reach and keep children and pets away while charging. Avoid charging in bedrooms, hallways or anywhere that blocks an exit.

What to do after a crash

After a hard crash, inspect the battery area and charge port before charging. If you see cracks, dents or loose connections, do not charge the battery. Contact us for advice first.

Plan your charging around your riding

If you ride early in the morning, plug in the evening before so the battery has time to cool, charge and rest. On riding days, let the bike cool while you clean it, then connect the Surron Light Bee X charger. A predictable routine means the bike is always ready when you are.

Storing the battery over winter

Before winter storage, charge the battery to around half and keep the bike indoors, somewhere cool and dry. Check the charge every month or so and top it up if it drops. Avoid leaving the battery connected to the charger for weeks at a time.

Charging at tracks and campgrounds

Many venues offer power. Ask before plugging in, keep cables tidy so no one trips and never leave a charging bike unattended in a public area. A considerate approach keeps venues welcoming, and makes it easy to bring your Surron Light Bee X charger next time.

Electric riding, simplified

There is no fuel to mix, no oil to change and no carburetor to clean on an electric dirt bike. Plug in, charge and ride. A reliable charger is the heart of that simple routine, which is why it pays to have the right one for your bike.

Cables and connectors that last

The charge plug and port see a lot of use, so a little care helps them last. Avoid bending the cable sharply where it enters the plug, never pull it out by the cord and do not let the plug drop onto concrete. Check the pins now and then for dirt or discoloration. Keeping both ends clean and dry prevents loose connections and slow charging.

Riding farther on every charge

Good riding habits stretch each charge further. Roll on the throttle smoothly, carry momentum through corners and keep tires at the right pressure. A clean, lubed chain reduces drag, and choosing the gentler ride mode on easy sections saves energy for the fun parts. Watch your battery level during the first few rides to learn your real range on local trails, then plan your loops with a comfortable reserve for the ride home.

Plan your next ride

Before a big day out, charge fully the night before, check the weather and plan a route that suits your range and experience. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Carry water, a phone and a small tool kit, and ride with a friend whenever you can. Good preparation means more time enjoying the trail and fewer surprises far from home.

Why choose an OEM-spec charger?

Cheap generic chargers may output the wrong voltage, skip important protections or use a loose-fitting plug. An OEM-spec Surron Light Bee X charger matches the voltage and connector your Light Bee expects, so it charges correctly and plugs straight into the port.

The cost of a charge

Charging a Light Bee costs very little compared with filling a gas dirt bike. Add the savings on oil, filters and engine maintenance, and electric riding is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy the trails.
